deciding on audio interface...Alesis MultiMix8 FW?

Post by Paranoid » Mon Dec 05, 2005 10:46 pm

I am deciding on an audio interface interface for an iMac G5 and wonder if anyone has any input on this? I have two B-controllers already so I don't need a control surface..just something I can use for live shows and to record with. Anyone have experience with the Alesis MultiMix8 FW? I have heard goods things about it so far. ;)

i'm not sure you can preview with them as they only seem to send a stereo channel back out. i guess you could always use yer lappys built in sound for preview though.

shit, I think he could be right. Hadn't tried/thought about that. Not sure that the internal soundcard would work, would it--two soundcards at once? I'll email my friend and get him to test to see if he can send a click to headphones but not mains.

on mac the iac stuff should let you aggregate the soundcards together, but you latency suffers a little i think. on pc you can use asio4all in a similar way.
