a choice or a bug? revert button behavior for clips

Post by SpecialGuest » Tue Dec 06, 2005 11:54 pm

at first i thought this was a bug and sent a direct email, but then a choice. i dunno but i can't get a response anywere as to why this change was made or if it was intentional.

here is the issue
the resume behavior (resume jog button) has changed from 5.01 to 5.02 and now subquantizes instead of returning playback to the position it would have been playing at had there been no relocation. i would need this to be the case or else everthing will be non-intuitive (motivic unfoldings just interrupted rather than adjusted, a b b d vs. a b a b c d where abcd are postions within a loop. if we go away it's nice to come back to where we would have been, this holds the material together with respect to time, other wise if we jump around we get all these extra beats and have to play back through everything in order again.. .. . . it was also possible to jog back / revert quickly to get great not repetitive effects but keep moving forward. in 5.02 it jumps back and you get stuck.
was this an intentional choice or a mistake?

it might seem small but it makes a big difference as it's one of the main features i use.
