BCR2000 problem

I am very new to using a hardware controller. I've tried searching the forums, but I'm not having much luck finding an answer. Ive tried implementing the Mackie Control Emulator for the BCR. I couldn't get the BCR to work with Ableton any other way

When I launch a clip using the BCR, the green play button just blinks. No sound, no nothing. Now, if I press the EXT button (turn off the external controller) then the clip will play. Even if I press the clip launch button with the mouse (if the external control is enabled) it will still blink at me. Any idea what might be going on?

the green "EXT" button actually turns on and off external midi clock sync,it has nothing to do with assigning and using external controllers. if you turn it on live won't play at all until you send it a 'play' command on a midi sync channel. have a better look in the manual, and at the midi preferences page and see how you go...
