In Ableton 4 I used to audition for interesting loops etc by scooting the loop markers through a sample/track with the left/right cursor keys, which would move them back/forwards a loop.
The 'play cursor' would automatically move itself as I did this to stay inbetween the loop markers, and also stay in time.
In Ableton 5, the left/right cursor keys nudge the loop around (by an increment I annoyingly can't seem to get to quantise to anything other than 16ths), and the up/down cursor keys move the loop around by loop-sized increments.
HOWEVER, it seems that the play cursor behaves a bit inconsistently. Sometimes it behaves like it did in Ableton 4, ie it moves itself so it always lies within the loop locators, other times it ignores them completely.
Very annoying. Am I missing something here? Checked out the manual but I can't see anything relevant. Bug? Feature?
Also, is there a way of setting the movement increment of the left/right cursor keys, so when I'm zoomed out with a 9 minute track in the clip view, I can skip forwards by a useful amount?
