Hi there!
A day ago I accidentally deleted all of my ableton 5 files, (on OS 10.4) the .als files and stuff I had recorded! I know, I was stupid not to have it backed up. I managed to recover a whole lot of .aifs and .wavs using Data Rescue II but I couldn't find the .als files. I don't think Data Rescue II recognizes .als files so it may have called them by another file extension- I tried renaming the extension of every file type .als, but alas it always gave the error message "this file appears to have been created by a newer version of live" etc.
I discovered the Crash log in the apple computers Library- and I have recovered some files this way. I also noticed files called "Crash 050801 010813.cfg" but I don't seem to be able to open these in live. Do these contain more song information? What about the file undo.cfg?
Do you recommend anything else to try and get my music back?
Lots of love,
Dai
