POSSIBILITY to GROUP TrAcKS

Post by drOnic » Fri Dec 23, 2005 4:15 pm

I think Abelton is not very far for being a full professional production software. One thing it needs though is the Possibility to group tracks. This is very helpful for many applications, like to apply one effect on many tracks (instead of inserting many times the same effetc, u just group the tracks and insert the effect on the group), to higher/lower volume of a group, example different drum parts (instead of highering/lowering each part indivudally) and also for viewing purpuses when there are a lot of tracks it simplifies work.

ANother Thing that i would find very useful is Send Tracks, to be able to distribute an effect to different ausio tracks using Send levels...

Fader groups would be nice to when you have something like a drumset mapped to multiple channels so after you set overall levels you can group the faders and turn the whole thing up and down.

Perhaps groups could work so that you could 'fold' the group into one track, when folded into a single track that tracks controls would control all controls in the group relative to each individual tracks setting, for example muting the folded track would mute everything in the group, but adjusting the volume would adjust volumes relative to the tracks in the group, same with sends etc..

This would also reduce screen space taken up.

It's still there:

Just add a new audio track, e.g. "subDrum" and then assign the output of all tracks you want to group to this Audio track and activate the monitoring of this track:

Now add the desired effects to this group-track, use sends and adjust level of the group.

I would like to see "Folder Tracks" like Cubase, Samplitude or Acid, too.
