Am I really the only one with this problem? I can't open any of my song files created in version 4 with the latest version 5 update without the application quitting. Does anyone know how to remedy this? Preferences, move some hidden files?... how totally frustrating.

Hi arkestra,

which computer hardware, which operating system and which Live 5 version do you use?

Can you load your sets if you temporarily disable Plug-ins in the Plug-in section of Live's preferences before you load your sets?

okay, now we're getting somewhere

Okay, cool, so they will open if I disable the plug-ins. I assume that one of the Native Instruments isn't compatible for some reason since they are the most coplext plug-ins I have. They are all updated,...so far, a few songs loaded that didn't when I turn off the AU in the preferences and only use the VST folder, but then obviously, I can't use the songs that have AUs without first opening them in 4, saveing the instrument and reopening it as a VST with the same parameter settings. Is this a known issue? It's appearing to be an AU incompatibility issue. what do you recommend now? Is there a hot fix or something? some kind of shell? > note: AUs worked fine in version 4.

Rob~
you seriously have the same thing goin' on? I've been trying to trouble shoot this for at least a total of 9 hrs now. Somehow, AU make A5 choke when loading a pre-existing file from version 4, but they work fine in the app itself. time to give up, huh?

Hi arkestra,

we need to find out which plug-in(s) cause this problem. So you should take the one of these Live sets having the less amount of different plug-ins, loaded in Live with Plug-ins disabled and try to make several copies of these Live set but each one containing only one plug-in.

Then you activate plug-ins in Live again and try to load these "reduced" Live sets?

The weird part is that they will load in Ab. 5 no problem, but if there are AU within a version 4 file, it makes the program crash...

Hi arkestra,

please send me such a Live 4 set that you cannot load within Live 5.0.3 (only the .als file, no samples).
Please also send me the system crash log of Live:
"~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Live.crash.log"
