Post by beef » Thu Dec 29, 2005 7:59 pm

yup...been going crazy cos somehow these friggin programs need a f-in codec to work with wav-files.

so can someone please, please, please tell me which mp3-converter to get that will help me convert wav renders straight from live to mp3.

personally i dont understand why the engineers at ableton didn´t add the possibility to render straight to mp3...do u?

Agreed on the render to MP3...that's really an oversight on the Abe's part.

As for the best codec, the opensource Lame encoder is generally one of the best ones around. It has a great set of options, including average variable bit rate, and high quality, etc.

You can pretty much plug the codec into any audio software that uses it. I'm still using the freeware Audiograbber to encode CDs as well as rendered wav files, and I plug in the Lame DLL in the install folder and the prog uses all its features. Works great.

Try Audiograbber 1.83, it's freeware and can be found by using search on download.com. Comes with LAME MP3 encoder.
