cue'ing- how to?

Could someone please explain to me how they are using the cue function during live performance. I have been experiencing problems with my cue function and I'd like someone to explain how the function is operating for them. i.e. does the sound go to both the main and cue outs when a track's cue button is enabled. THanks for the help!

what sound card are you using ?

if the track you are cueing is already going to the main outs before you cue it, then yes it will be going to both once cued.

if the track you are cueing is not going to the main outs, and you cue it, it will then be sent to the cue out, and cue out only.

remember, your soundcard must have two seperate stereo outs, one for main, one for cue.
