Im going to purchase a desktop specifically for running live and soundforge (although im starting to think i wont even need sound forge) and I just wanted alittle advice on the computer im looking at. heres the specs

Im probably going to uninstall just about every piece of software the computer comes with (without damaging the OS) and this computer will NEVER touch the internet.
also, can anyone point me to a thread about optimizing a pc for live? im sure there has been a few but i cant find them in the search engine. thank you for your patience with this newbie.

optimization comes with experience. removing all unnecessary progs from your computer is also a good thing, the point is to keep it clean.

You do want your audio on a different drive but not an external drive, unless it has wicked-fast seek and access times. A good solution is to use two SATA drives, a smaller one with your operating system and programs and then a big'un just for your audio files. Keep it internal for high speed streaming though, as far as I know...
