But by using soundflower (from cycling74.com) as audio output in garageband, and as audio input in live, you can stream 16 track (if i remember correctly) into live, and record them there as audio. From Live you can then edit and You can't sync the two apps, though. So the garageband project will be a little messed up in live and will need lots of editing.
I think logic can open garageband stuff, and from logic you can export the tracks as audio, which can then be opened in live.
