hey there, new here, but somewhat experienced in Live 4 and 5.
If there is any info on the web, feel free to send me there.
so i want to use a midi foot controller to control, mainly the launching of record clips. i want to set up loops, and need both hands to play my instrument--so using a midi keyboard wont work any longer.
I bought an old Yamaha MFC1 foot controller, but it, and many others foot pedals seem to only send program or control change messages.
Does Live only accept note on/note off messages to control the cilp launch?
how can i configure Live to accept my pdeal's messages.
thanks for any assistance!

foot controller --program change vs. note on/off messages

thanks for the reply Machinate, but Live only recognizes the MFC1 once...it shows up on the Midi Map in Live as "Pb1" where 1 is the Midi channel it is set to. If i change midi channles it says Pb2 etc...
but the foot controller only lets you use one Midi channel at a time for every button, so the separate buttons are not recognized in Live.
Is there a way to configure Live to recognize the separate buttons on one Midi channel, or do i need to upgrade to something like the MFC10.
thanks.

If you want to use the keyboard mapping use midiStroke by Charlie Roberts, it converts any midi including program changes to keystrokes. Midi mapping : controlAid, which does the same, but no keystrokes (pr.ch to notes or cc) and a lot more.
