Hello amigos.

Bit of topic, but Im an art student and have been asked to write an essay on a movement / artform which stimulates me, naturally I've chosen music, more specifically electronic music.

Wondering if you guys have any good links to sites which specialise in the history of our beloved artform, which I may have missed on my google searches.

Thanks xx

www.ishkur.com for electronic music

www.allmusic.com for ALL music, but is organised well enough that getting electronic only info should be easy

i think it's been said before, but ishkur is pretty narrow minded and full of inaccuracies.

a little research on line should help out here. one site i like is this one:

http://www.obsolete.com/120_years/

mostly acedemic, but of interest nonetheless:

http://eamusic.dartmouth.edu/~wowem/ele ... story.html

also, look into the links between psyche rock, electro, disco, dub, industrial and hip hop.

No shit, man. I mean have your ear to the ground and know where bits and pieces filtered through pop music come from, know that the pop star doesn't make music in a fucking vacuum and lay off. I think pop music should be allowed to exist. When a goobersmoooch like that gets on a rant in just shows how dumb they are. They try so hard to be apart of something underground but when I read statements like that I see how out of touch and limited they are. Usually people with real talent aren't so bitter. Just another critic.
