Guitar Synth (GI-20) - Volume???

Post by mandr » Fri Jan 20, 2006 5:30 pm

Hi,

I connected my GI-20 to ableton 5 and all works fine. But the volume adjuster on the MIDI-Pickup does not have any effect? How can I fix that? Any clue?

Thanks,

Mark

I'm sure you've already tried, but be aware of the difference between synth volume and guitar volume. Also check the control change in the patch, it may hold you to one volume.

I've just borrowed one of these today and am looking forward to checking it out.

Good luck.

Hi Mark,

I have found the best way to sort these sort of issues out is to use midiox (or whatever other midi message display app you have).

Run the app and check you are getting midi notes when playing the guitar, now change the synth volume control on the guitar can you see midi volume messages in midiox?

If you cannot then it will be a setting in the GI-20 that needs changeing, I don't have one of these as I use a Axon ax100 and GR33 so I cannot tell you what to look for.

If you are seeing the volume messages its a problem in Live.

Have a try with midiox and repost your results I am sure we can work it out.

Cheers

Andy
