Okay, I've tried everything and still when rendering or recording a ReWire track it is not sample accurate. Below is what happens:
1. Live with Reason.
-Rendering the ReWire track resulted in 236 samples off.
-Recording the ReWire track with loop enabled results in 4 samples off.
-Recording the ReWire track with punch in/out results in 224 samples off.
-Recording the ReWire track without punch or loop results in 104 samples off.
2. Live with Project5.
-Rendering the ReWire track resulted in anywhere from 105 to 219.
-Recording the ReWire track with loop enabled results in 18 samples off.
-Recording the ReWire track with punch in/out results in 164 samples off.
-Recording the ReWire track without punch or loop results in 42 samples off.
The results above were pretty consistent and there was never any sample accuracy. I then decided to test this in Sonar 2.2 and what I found was that:
1. Sonar with Reason.
-Rendering the ReWire track resulted in anywhere from 12-23 samples off.
2. Sonar with Project5.
-Rendering the ReWire track resulted in "Sample Accuracy" everytime.
So Sonar is sample accurate with Project5 using ReWire. It should be since Cakewalk developed both, but all ReWire slaves and host should be sample accurate together. I tried Cubase SX with Reason last summer and the renderings were sample accurate. This shows that it's at least possible to achieve sample accuracy with both Project5 and Reason.
So am I wrong to assume that this is a bug in Live? Can you fix this, please? Some people may not care, but I do. Sample accuracy is suppose to be one of the benefits of ReWire, VSTis and DXis and I find it beneficial as well.
Please look into this Ableton.
Thanks
ps
I tested using a single audio sample for all of the testing by:
-loading it into the NN19 in Reason and triggering it from measure 1-3.
-loading an audio track into Project5 and looping it from measure 1-3.
-loading it into the DS864 in Project5 and triggering it from measure 1-3.
Live's ReWire not sample accurate...

Hi Agnishvatta,
this will be fixed in the next bug fix update with some other old ReWire bugs we have finally fixed. Thanks for your descriptions.
Kind regards, Bernd.

One more question, will ReWire playback also be sample accurate in the bug fix update? What I mean is that, lets say I have just recorded a ReWire track, assuming it was a sample accurate one, if I then playback that track along with the ReWire channel, will I get phasing or will it simply get lounder (the sign that it's sample accurate)?
Thanks
