Warp makers are displaced after reopening the project.

Post by red33mer » Sat Jan 28, 2006 6:19 pm

Hello all,

well first post here and massive problems with the warp makers.
I got an house arrangement in live with a lot of warped audiotracks. Everything is fine and speed of the tracks is correct and fits the others till i save my project and reopen it the next day.

The warp makers of most of the tracks have been slightly displaced although i saved them after warping.
Why is that? Any ideas?

Its quite frustrating arranging for hours and the next time everything is gone.

Thx
R.

Dude, I'm having the exact same problem. A lot of people are and Ableton seem to be doing f*ck all about it. Apparently, if you convert your MP3 files to wav, then it won't do it. Unfortunately, my laptop only has an 80GB HDD and doesn't have the room to convert the 100's of MP3s to wav. Some DJ tool it's turning out to be.

make sure you have Quicktime installed on your machine, see if that helps

for some reason the warping system doesnt perform properly without it. dont ask me why, because nobody has come forward with an explanation yet

try it

well...so i am not the only one.
if i am not doin wrong than thats a major bug..
i dont like to convert my mp3s back to wav...i just did convert them to mp3 and i wanna use them like i do with the rest of my hardware.

the quicktime thing sounds pretty strange to me..i will try it though. i am so frustrated that i lost hours of work.

I haven't tried it yet. But Ableton Tech Support have recommended that I try it, apparently Live will use the Quicktime MPEG decoder instead of the Windows Media Player one, if it's there.

Well...i deinstalled all. Deleted all files incl. the hidden user data files and did a reinstall. Before that i installed a new quicktime version as well...

Its workin now...but not with all tracks..i lost the timing of a few, wich are screwed up totally. The others seem to work correct...

We will see how long it takes till i get the problem again.

Thats it for the moment.

i've got this same problem with files downloaded from beatport and trackitdown....

i've nearly knocked my head on the wall, because of that strange "marker jump when u zoom in" thing...

so what should i do now to fix this ?

1/ convert all my mp3 into wavs and go back 2 work ?

2/ install quicktim and it will work just fine ?

3/ do something with the ASD files but i don't really understand what ?

please help me, it's really boring !!!!

Start with the easiest option - install quicktime.
