Crashing when using synths

Just installed ableton live 5 yesterday. So far I have mixed feelings about it but I cannot get the synths to work properly. Every time I try to change to another preset in synth it crashes and ableton closes. When I go to switch from one bass preset to another crash occurs. Any ideas.

You should contact the Ableton support - they'll be swift... Never heard of this problem.
