USB Interface annoyance

Post by sergeastorms67 » Wed Feb 08, 2006 3:03 pm

Hi all,

I have a Tascam US122 audio interface. Last night i recorded some guitar parts and all seemed ok. However when i listened to the parts in isolation i could hear the rest of my arrangement very faintly in the background. Any other US122 users experienced this? Has anyone experienced this with other interfaces?

It's doing my head in!!

All opinions and views welcomed.

thanks,

Ash.

Are you recording accoustic or electric? If accoustic and you are recording with a mic, of course you're going to hear whatever is on your monitors since the mic is going to pick that up too.

Regardless, try monitoring with headphones instead and see if that helps fix the problem.

ooops,

I forgot to mention i direct unputed the electric guitar into the interface.

So it should be a clean recorded signal?

I would hope that it was a clean signal... you shouldn't be getting input/output bleeding over from the interface, though I suppose it is possible that the pickups are also hearing whatever is playing through the monitors. If you've got a tape deck or something else that doesn't have a mic, I'd try playing that while monitoring something else and see if you get the same issue.
