I just bought an Alesis Photon 25 Midi Keyboard and have plugged the midi out of the keyboard into the midi in of the FireWire. I used an external power adapter for the keyboard and booted up ableton. After a quick fiddle with the settings i got it to respond. I then tried it a few hours later and nothing happened.
I have now tried several things to get it to respond again with no luck including using USB with the keyboard, using different software (Reason) and re-installing the Firewire drivers. All with no luck! The keyboard still fails to respond in any capacity.
The keyboard seems to work fine as i quickly pluged it into an old PC and it worked no problem with Ableton (through USB) with no Audiophile.
Can anyone help, it is probably a simple configuration problem but i'm bemused!
Thanks in advance,
Garry
FireWire Audiophile dosn't detect my Photon 25
if you are on a mac there is a known issue with software update and midi audio setup... everytime auto update of the operating system occurs it needs the audiophile drivers re-installing...
i found the answer at www.macosxhints.com i think, a post by meta.
you will need to go to m-audio and download lates driver and uninstall pkg, uninstall driver, reboot, re-install driver.
quick but annoying...
hope this helps
