I've set up Cubase SX3 as my sample editor.
When I click the "Launch Sample Editor" button (labelled "Edit"), the Cubase splash screen appears. The messages on the splash screen indicate that Cubase is starting normally. However, when it gets to the soundcard (M-Audio Firewire 410) it just exits. Checking the Task Manager I see that Cubase is, indeed, not running.
Is anyone else using Cubase as their sample editor? Anyone doing this with an M-Audio soundcard?
Thanks.

Cubase SX3 as Clip Editor - Problem Starting
Re: Cubase SX3 as Clip Editor - Problem Starting
Have you got the different apps set to use different drivers ie: Live should be 'M-Audio ASIO' whilst you set SX to use 'ASIO Multimedia' or 'ASIO Direct X'? If the 2 apps are trying to use the same driver then the audio engine for the app you open last won't boot...bottha wrote:I've set up Cubase SX3 as my sample editor.

In Cubase, search for, and check the box "Release ASIO Driver in Background". You might have to open Cubase first, before Live.
