Hi
I pretty new to making music with software - i have been playing music for a while doing various session work – Abelton is the first program i have sat and read the manual for music software – so i have only been using software since christmas – so a lot of the software language is new to me etc – just so you dont blind me too much with abbreviated terms which will not make sense to me - yet!!
Anyways – i was using a “Gain” preset from the Trackteam Audio bundlelite (free with Computer Music mag) on the Ableton Vinyl effect. I am using it on a track where i have recorded a stringed instrument – just a 1 bar loop – and i have crammed lots of warp markers into it as far left as possible and then slowed it down to play at 20bpm in a set playing at 140 bpm
The Vinyl effect sits in the middle of EQ Four ad then at the end of the device chain is the Utility
When i stop all of the tracks using the master stop button for or the “stop clips” button –there is lots of “Vinyl crackle” still playing into the track ...
How do i stop this??

the same problem is happening to another track –
i have a simple drum loop (2 bars) created in Impulse which is being sent to another midi track with a different Impulse set up for recording.
The new track is being recorded over 16 bars and has an arpeggiator before the impulse and compressor after.
Now when i stop the set the “gated” drum sounds in the newly recorded are still banging away coupled with the vinyl crackle –
It actually sounds a lot cooler than what im trying to do so im just wondering whether to record it – render it and use it in another set but i would still like to know what is wrong??

thanks for the idea - I'll try it out but i dont see that you should have to addmore effects units and add to CPU use to stop a problem like this- maybe it is a bug??
i have been having a quick scan over the forum and read that there are quite a few bug issues related to this kind of problems with Ableton
im not having any major problems but have just uninstalled and reinstalled eveything from my harddrive - but removing lots of demo software which i have been told can cause some problems with music software
anyways - im going to try and solve it and maybe contact the ableton team after a while if i have no luck
cheers
