why is live so slow on macs?!?

I recently got a new 1Ghz-Powerbook and it's really funny to see Live running faster on my 3 year old Pentium-III notebook!!!

I'm totally dissapointed....

it is not slow on my iBook. the CPU usage is a bit higher but it still does what i want it to and does it with no problems. maybe up your RAM?

more ram, and ativec optimization wouldn't change that. first of all you should stop comparing it to the old pc, unless that's the performance you were going for cause it'll be a while before the macs are up to that performance. just compare it to itself and if it's doing the job for you, if not
then sell it like a hot potatoe.
