Track transfer.

Post by Play » Thu Feb 23, 2006 11:25 pm

Is it possible to transfer tracks and data from one Live session to another. Is there a utility to do this kinda like Track Transfer Utility with DigiDesign?

Hope this isn't covered somewhere and i missed it.

Thanks for the help!

jes, you can.
when you have a live set opened, where you want to drop in tracks from another live set, its kindda simple. just browse (with the live browser on the left) to the directory, where the desired set is located and then you click on the arrow, which opens the subtracks of the set.
then you can drop single tracks into your opened live set.
important: you have to have a midi or audio clip in the track you want to drop, otherwise it will not be displayed in the browser. routing wount be copied either (which is kindda sad)

does anyone know if there are plans for non-clip tracks to be import/exportable in the future? i do almost all realtime processing - rarely use samples - and would like to be able to transfer some device chains & Midi setups from set to set. thought that'd be possible in 5.0.x, but have hit a wall after recent upgrade. kinda bummed.

Post that in the Futer Wish List. Sounds reasonable. You might get lucky!

u know u can save your device chains right? select multiple FX devices and right click - then group them. save that as a chain, and it will be in the effect browser!
my favorites at the moment: MASSIVE. FM8. LIVE 6. Bome's Pro. KORE.

okay. i wondered why the grouping option was constantly greyed out when i tried. i guess dummy clips it is. just seems so pointless.
