Editing samples the clean and basic way - possible? - how???

At the moment I am only interested in editing my samples in a cut and paste way. I have recorded 8 tracks in sync from my studio quality tape machine.

When I create a live set with some of these tracks to edit them as a song, it all comes out crappy with some effect(s) on them that is/are completely uncalled for.

How do I configure Live to function properly for my purposes? (I didn't expect this kind of a problem. If you're interested in my opinion, I think that this kind of automatic processing is totally annoying.)

I run Live 5 in Windows xp Professional.

You'r gonna have to explain this effect you'r getting a bit more, only thing I can think of if you just drop the audio on a track is you have the tempo set way of and have warping on, doubleclick audio clip, then try and turn the 'warp' button of.

Yeah sounds like a warping issue to me but I would need way more information to have any real idea of what you are talking about. Maybe try changing warp mode to complex or something else besides beats and see if that changes it.

I already turned warp off. The annoying effect sounds like some kind of echo. Since I'm a newbie, my knowledge of Live is limited, but I think it's just plain weird that Live processes without asking. It shouldn't process unless you tell it to, that's what I think.

You think right. Live doesn't process anything without you telling it to. So you've set something up wrong.

You might have direct monitoring turned on in the soundcard settings and are hearing two copies of the audio slightly delayed, or your template track has fx saved with it.
