midi latency on extern hard instrument : Mea Culpa

Post by Human Koala » Fri Feb 24, 2006 6:43 am

i have to say for me it wasn't a bug

in fact i didn't see there is one midi latency dialog box by midi in-out port ( not graphically clear Wink )
i thinked it was a global parameter
i tried to setup the bad midi port

so it's working like a dream and i don't have prob to synchronise&record my micromodular

dohhhh

I think this is the case for many people...my best friend altogether quit using live with his mpc 1000 till I showed him this as well.
Not to say that some people arent having REAL problems.

Hi Human Koala,

you are right. It is not so easy to see if the settings are there for each in/out port. We hope to visualize the relation between a in/out port and its properties a bit better.

regards,
/Alex

Hello Human Koala
One of the main problems I have had with 5.03 was this midi latency thing.
So does this mean no more gap at the beginning of midi clips you record to audio?
If possible could you expalin how to use this ?
I have a hardware sampler which will play back fine from a live clip but always records with extra latency (Creating a gap of silence before the first beat and therefore Offset audio clip)
Thanks

yes it means that for me :D

you have to select the correct output port before to set the latency in the dialog windows

by default, you see the first midi port row latency setup and it's the input midi port

click on the midi output port row and you will see the correct dialog form ( with pattern/song sync button )
