Hello,
I'm using an external synth to record midi and would like to know how Ableton can record the audio going out of my synth. I have my synth's output connected to my audio interface. Is there such a way? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Hey thanks for the quick reply!
I have to apologise that maybe I wasn't so clear. You see I'm recording midi by assigning parts from my synth to record unto Ableton. So my Midi Tos are set to the different instrument channels (Chanel 10 drums, Channel 1 bass, etc.) to my MIDI interface. When I do a global record and render to disk, the file that is created has no audio. I understand that the program is recording only MIDI signals and not the sound. The manual talks about MIDI recording from virtual synths or Simpler and Impulse. But what about external MIDI synths?
I hope this is more clear.
Thanks!

no you cant render the external midi gear, you will have to record it into live first - set up the input on an audio to the input your synth is plugged into then arm the track and record the clip - in manual where the last guy said
if you want them all to be seperate audio tracks you will have to record each of the sounds the midi channels are playing individually - if you dont have enough inputs you will have to do it one by one
if you want external midi devices included in a render you will want pro-tools
