Using laptop mousepad as controller

Hi

I've just (finally) bought myself a copy of Live and was wondering whether it was possible to assign the mousepad thing on a laptop to control certain elements within Live (I have a USB mouse connected for the usual er.. mouse stuff).

In my head I imagine I am able to transform my humble laptop into a Korg Kaoss pad. I can't see how free the pad from mouse duties and assign it to something else though...

Any thoughts appreciated.

On Mac, use the utility called ControlAId
