Why so few bug fixes in 5.2
We've all seen loads of bug reports on the forums andmany of us have reported issues.
Why after so many weeks since 503 are there so few bug fixes in 5.2
Is this just a port or are Ableton taking their quality seriously ?

i think its pretty apparent: priorities are definitely elsewhere. i defintely have totally lost faith in ableton about this:
they either cannot or will not fix this product enough to address most of the issues before the release of version 6
im passed the bug reporting stage - the beta testing helping phase - the stating my case in long posts and threads phase - the arguing with narsicctic fanboy user phase - and the frustrated, pissed off and time/energy wasting, disappointed with the vendor stage -
now i am making the painful, expensive but necessary switch over to pro-tools (for arranging).
then doing a big studio upgrade over the next couple of months - to my processor - new interface - and throwing 3x as much ram at Live 5 over the recommended specs to get it to work.
at this point i think waiting and arguing and helping them test is a waste of my time and energy. shame to have to say all this - because its such an amazing tool in so many ways but ...
with the audio problems and 50% of the functionality (arrange view) crippled as badly as it is, thier reputation has taken a serious nosedive. cant work, cant use it without learning an additonal product and throwing tons of more money into my studio.
oh well - you do what you have to .

I'm trying to hold off on Pro Tools as long as I can, but I'm getting there myself.
Hmmmmm...?
Ableton + M-Audio + Digidesign + Avid = El Screwo?

Ah, that shows you the power of music, that magician of magician, who lifts his wand and says his mysterious word and all things real pass away and the phantoms of your mind walk before you clothed in flesh.

Personally I'm a bit worried, can't upgrade to 5.03 for fear of the new "feature" that doesn't reset clips.... Getting ready for a live show I'm doing tomorrow, and Live just crashed on me when my back was turned, literally.
I'm almost happy to see that you're using windows supster, just to know the problems are cross platform.
The stability and glitches when live gets too close to using all your CPU don't make any sense in a live performance app. I'm thinking I push Live too hard, and I should be composing in logic, but Live hates Logic's tempo definitions I guess? Every time I port say a 135bpm audio file into Live from Logic, Live warps it at 134.78 or some other odd amount. lame part about that is sometimes my files are complex enough to where you can tell, and the groove is weird enough to where Live's warping screws it up.....
Anyway wish me luck with the show.....

I have had problems since getting 5 when it came out.
I have been concerned ableton were getting a bit sort of star struck with all the hype and were not taking the posts about how bad it was working for some people in (I don't think the bug fixed version of Live 5 I'd like will be made before they move on to Live 6). Especially with some users who kick off and start undermining everyones machines whenever a bug is reported. The response I have gotten to posts has turned to arguments a lot of the time.
But I have managed to report and get a bug fixed straight away during testing beta 4, so this is encouraging.
I think the best thing for everyone in this situation is get trying the beta out now!!
Report to ableton beta any problems because the forum doesn't work its like wasting time compared to speaking directly to someone from ableton (Much better Response)
If we all do this now then hopefully somethings will get fixed
Good Luck Machinesworking
Peace Guys
