i either run a dr drex into live and record the loop and save it as a live file or drop the desired rex file into recycle and export as an aiff file

Refills can only be opened from within Reason itself. Guess you should try D DAS' suggestion.

lay the sample or sound down as a track within reason, then set you left and right locators for the start and end of the sample.then go up to file and select export loop as audio, save it to a location in your computer, when you finished doing the rest of your loops sound etc, close down reason, open up live, and hey all you reason sounds you wanted ready to be used in live...

hope this helps, sometimes my ramblings make no sense 8O
