I recently posted on Bryan Erickson's (Velvet Acid Christ) live journal in reply to his issues with Cubase and MIDI. I suggested switching to Live and this is what he had to say:

cubase is great once oyu get it setup right. seriously... logic is ok, but has a few flaws i dont like.
ablton sound engine soudns good, reaktor sounds like pure aliasing shit as does reason... to me those are toys... never sound that good. i dont use vstis much i'm all about hardware and tracking..."

if you want robotic simple music that never has any soul in the playing, yeah, ablton all the way...
complain about this low midi resolution. if they fix that, hell i might even switch over.... but that is a huge no no man... midi must be atleast 64ths or higher....."
