**Waves plugins problem realized, but now this!

Post by Bernie Lomax » Tue Apr 04, 2006 12:17 am

UG. I just worked on a mix for a long time, had about 5 tracks with waves plugins. when i went to render, it all just rendered as silence (nothing was muted, master channel was up) I said "hmm let me save and just restart my computer, that fixes stuff sometimes" So I did.

When i started live up again, it said it couldnt load the plugins because it couldnt find them. I checked the plugin prefs and it said it was pointing to the waveshell folder in the custom folder option. Why won't it load? when i try to put a new waves plugin on a different track, it loads up just fine. what the heck.

Thanks for pointing that out. The search function on these forums really suck. I can never find what I'm looking for by searching, so i appreciate the patience. Maybe a tip on using the search function too?

Anyway, now that I've dealt with that reality, I'm trying to rewire Live to protools, so i can mix and do my effects in there. I've rewired reason to protools before, and reason to live before, but now I can't successfully get sound recorded from Live into protools! I have each track in live set to an individual bus. In protools i have many tracks set up, all with the propper bus selected in the input setting 3 slots above the little panning fader. when I just hit play in protools, it plays back the live audio channels through the assigned tracks in protools, no problem. When i go to record, it starts recording, but when i stop recording, i see that no audio has been recorded, just a flat line where the waveform should be. What am I doing wrong!? I searched google for this, and this forum and came back with nothing, so perhaps someone here can see the flaw in my process. Thank you for checking this out
