small audio 'fizzle or crackle' between clips

im using 5.2.

im working on a track in the arrange page. ive recorded everything over from the session page. im working with 16 bar loops. everytime i cross or transition from one set of clips to the next i get a fizzle or crackle. all the clips are warped and set to loop. the average cpu load is 60% [p4 3.6ht 1 gb 7200rpm]. there is no crackle from scene to scene in the session page. can anybody help.

have you tried disabling hyperthreading?

alex [ableton] spoke of this in another thread and live disables HT on boot up.

well i don't know - i suppose he knows what he's talking about, however when i disabled it i gained some performance on the test. 3-4% maybe.

also, i saw on another thread recently where one of the other guys, I don't remember who (maybe Amaury, he's posting a lot recently) - said that many people have solved problems by disabling HT.

it might be worth a try. im just trying another test at the moment - freezing is causing me some trouble as well.
