live 5.0 stopped working altogether...

I've been working on 5.0 for ages (since it came out) and its been just fine , however in the last few days whenever i try and open any .als file it just crashes instantly - serious program error - or even just fails to open in the first place... i just updated to 5.2 and everything is okay again but i am very worried that this might start happening again.... i didn't change any settings and my laptop is pretty much just for music these days ....

got an fa-66 audio card if that has anything to do with it.. windows xp/1024 ram/2.ghz centrino

am thinking of selling a kidney to get a new mac laptop perhaps - more stable/
