crossfader and firewire audiophile equals glitching - help?

I noticed recently when I use the crossfader there are momentary pauses in the visual movement followed by small bursts of static. I tried it using my laptop soundcard and the problem dissappeared, which leads me to believe it is my MAudio Firewire Audiophile.

Any suggestions for solving this prob?

What hardware you using? Laptop? Could be related to powermanagement features on the graphics card. This can usually be sorted by disabling the powersavefeatures on the graphics card and/or upping the latency!

I use an FW Audiophile and not experiencing any problems when using the crossfader!
