Ok I have asked this question in a couple of my local forums but with no luck...
I am using a FW410 (cringe I know what some of you will say) with a PC laptop . On the whole it has been working fine, every problem that I had with it initially ive sorted out and been able to overcome it if it occurs again... Except this one....
When I use a microphone, I am using one of the front 2 inputs as mono ones... I get a level reading with the green bars, I can record and loop say a beatbox pattern and its fine.. I then do it with another audio track and say add a beatboxed hi-hat and again that records and loops fine, usually around now I might be lucky to get a third, but genearlly the audio readings lock up, the green bar is frozen and I can't actually record any more noise INTO ableton.
There is STILL audio going into the card as the green LED lights up on the front of the card, and there is still audio coming OUT of the speakers but no reading levels showing up in ableton....
The same thing happens when I plug my electribe into the card, I get readings for a bit, can record a bit of audio ok, but then it freezes the audio reading, audio still comes out of the speakers and a level is still IN the card but can't record audio from teh input any more..
A mate of mine said it sounds like a sampling issue, I played around with the sample settings on the card but with no luck..
Other than that I have had no major problems with the card (well not to the same extent as other people).
Before anyone asks, yes I have the latest drivers for the card.
