Post by mikHATz » Sat Apr 29, 2006 9:16 am

i believe that the windows update tis the only time when IE will be used, also i usually just uninstall Messenger from "add remove windows components"

it doesn't scare me, its just slow as hell, has no built in mail, no tabs, no customizable gui, no mouse gestures and really shitty download management etc etc

slow? do u own a pentium 200mhz? for the mail there is outlook express, or msn mesenger, both can be open from iexplorer

no tabs? just right click, open in a new window, or ctrl +n, when there are many windows open they will group as a unique window in the taskbar..

no cusomizable gui? u can move the toolbar, change sizes, colors, positions, fonts, u need more?

imo it's the most elastic and compatible browser, if you want to go with limitations or incompatibilities, go for something else!
the only thing i can complain is the download management..

If you don't use it, it just sits there idle, not running, or anything.....
Why bother removing it.

MSN I can understand, it's just a trojan that's hard to remove and takes
resources...... but IE doesn't really do anything when you're not using it.

MSN a trojan? LOL! i'd say it contains crapware (toolbars, desktop search, etc) that can be avoided during the installation, but very far from a trojan! wich allows people to remotely connect and take gain of your computer.

There is a reason I feel that way.... and yes I know security and know it's
not a trojan.

1. MSN is installed on all MS computers.
2. It's hard to remove unless you know how.
3. It runs at startup all the time.
4. Hackers like programs that have large distribution.
5. Exploits for MSN will come and go over time.

So I see it as a security risk just because of it's distribution, the fact it runs
all the time. Basically because it's a great target for hackers.
