martin delaney's book: ableton live 5 tips and tricks

Post by ian hands » Tue May 02, 2006 7:48 am

probably mean to the author but DON'T buy this book, its useless! totally uninspiring, had me rolling my eyes like this
it's very thin and mostly tells you to look in the manual or on another page of this 'pamplet'. it reads like a product description… i don't consider myself a master user of Live but it had no tricks or tips that I could see.

stick to the power books

I have it, and I kind of like it. Martin is genuinely enthusiastic about Live, and you can actually pick up something useful from it. Plus it cost less than an issue of Computer Music; for the price it is more than OK.

I think it is better to tell people to look it up in the manual than rewrite the manual. If there were no tricks and tips you could see, then I think the problem lies with you, not the book.

I bought the book, no tips or tricks there, it's like he's talking about Live to convince you to buy it, not very useful also the chapter to djing it's very short, one page and a half. DON'T BUY IT.
A day without House Music isn't the end of the world but is so damn close.
