Hi,
I'm considering switching from Cubase to Live and been trying Live for a few days now to see if it's worth buying.
Anyway encountered strange behaviour. Connected my MC-808 and just for fun created a beat loop with kick only 120BPM 4/4. Notes are every 1/16 straight. However every now and then I can hear timing droput/skip. Just for test exported midi clip, imported it into Cubase and all seems perfect, kick note every 1/16. Tryed different midi out (my audio card wavetable synht) and still the same.
Settings are default and i tried different Launch modes in midi clip, always the same. Groove is straight.
By the way when I use internal instruments like Impulse everything works perfect
Please help. I really like Ableton Live but this thing is really turning me off.
Thanks
weird midi behaviour
Hi Amauri,
Thanks for the respond. Sync and Remote are turned off. I tried MC-808 trough USB midi and tried internal wavetable synth of laptop audio card as well. They behave identical. Every now and then it just somehow skips maybe in few miliseconds. It's periodical but skip is moveing in timeline when looping sometimes it's at the start of the midi clip and next time in the middle.
Here is the link to mp3 file of midi clip (few loops) from internal wavetable synth.

Thanks again

solved
Amaury,
Well my problem is solved. Just bought Edirol UA-101 10/10 audio card and EDIROL UM-3ex external MIDI interface. All good now with MIDI time.It was probably shitty laptop audio card. Just to let everyone know. Nothing to do with Ableton obviously
Cheers
