how to save a device to clip???
for example. i created a beat. and i apply a pingpong delay to it. i want to have it set so the next time i drag this beat into a slot it will have the delay as i set it. i am aware that when i click on this beat in the broweser it plays with the delay. but when i drag it in it is gone. is there a solution?

do you have to save your set as 'self contained' for this to work, what i want to do is this:
open a blank set, bring in alot of samples, mangle them with efx and drag the samples to organized folders in my browser, after this I want to delete the 'workshop' set that i created all of these device clips with.
if I delete this set, will I retain my new device samples that have been dragged into folders?

If you drag it into an EXISTING slot, only the audio or Midi clip will appear.
This is so that you can drag just the audio or midi from an existing Live clip and use it in a channel you had already set up.
If you drag it over the returns and hold it, transparent clips will appear, let go of the mouse button and Live will create a new track, this will have the effects.
PS sometimes you have to hold the mouse and wait quite a bit for transparent clips to appear, when they do you can let go of the mouse button and the new track will be created. Live is a bit slow here and there this is one of those areas.
Also make sure to read the fine manual multiple times!
