Idea

Post by kats » Tue Dec 25, 2001 3:23 am

i have been having fun with Live for a couple of weeks now it is a great Toy but therz one thing
LIVE should be able to do as its designed to be a quick and ableie tool
it defenetely should be able to aply pitch
change movements in arranger view .,if anybody tried after recording from session to arrange wiev something like Bass or keyboard LINE and than by grabbing pitch wheel improfizng.,you can come up with crazy stuff ..but sadly its not possible to record what you"ve just done to another track for later adjustment. or simply you should be able to aply this action on the same track to a clip you"ve been improvizing with .only way to do it you have to record it back to session view but its not gonna be able to capture all action because improvizing can last for quite some time right!and session view"s cell limited in terms of time for recording is going to leave you upset BIG TIME. if you have not tried it yet try it and you will get what i mean

recording pitch changes

Hmm. Not sure if this is what you are talking about Kats, but you can change the pitch of a clip while it's being recorded to the arranger by manipulating the pitch control in the sample view. Now the trick is getting the hardworking Ableton guys to let us assign a midi controller to the pitch knob. . .

pitch manipulation

Post by kats » Fri Jan 04, 2002 12:55 pm

i know pitch can be manipulated when clip is being recorded from session to arranger but what
i mean is once you copied a clip to arranger wiev
then you go and grab pitch wheel in arranger wiev for that copied clip ,fiddle around ,improvise and
you will see that it sounds and feels different
but sadly you cant bounce it down to a new track.Live would look much better if you could
record directly in arranger wiev like other classic softwares do

pitching = recording in arranger

I see what you're getting at. Yeah, that's a great idea.
