Warped track playing with Intro!?

Post by maze23a » Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:59 pm

Is it possible to warp a Track and play it with Intro?
I mean when i warp tracks i mostly cut them exactly on the one
before i warp them.
But if i have a song with for instance with a string intro
and i want to mix that song with the Intro at the begining?
Is that possible and if it is,how can i do it?

Thanxx in advance!

If understand you correctly, the easiest way is to warp from the first downbeat (when the rythm kicks in), then put a marker 8 or 16 bars back from this point and use your ears to see if it sounds right. you normally find that it will line itself up.... if it doesnt go back through the pads 4 at a time making sure each is set right until you get all the way back to the beginning.
one problem i've found, is that when you find these long almost ambient introductions, they can often be in a different tempo (to give the song a lift when it jumps in) or of an odd loop length.
MBP 2.4 & a shit load of Faderfoxes!

I had this same problem.

I had this same problem as well. here's how I tackled it.

First off, the intro was NOT in time, meaning that the tempo shifted.

What I did was actually copy the clip into the slot directly beneath it, then I made a loop of the intro, and then did the regular loop of the rest (starting with the first beat.) I had to tweak the intro a lot, putting additional loop markers in to tweak it out.

Then I added a follow action on the first clip. so the first clip would play then then the second would play right after it.

Hope that helps.
