using your saved effects

Post by hibjr » Mon Jun 05, 2006 7:28 pm

why did ableton make it so that when you dragged a clip into a session slot it will only carry those effects saved with it if 1) it has no other effects in that slot (this is a problem for me;i keep a 3 eq saved into every track by default. and 2) if there is another clip there with effects that new clip that is dragged in now takes on the previous clips effects. this is not good especially when you have takee time and effort to save effects to a clip. is there a way around this? maybe i am doing something wrong?. i would think it would be much more accomodating it you simply drag and drop a clip and the effects come with it no matter what is previously there or not.

I believe you think the opposite way of most Live users. I personally would be pissed off if I set up a track with an effect chain and then get my previous effects wiped because I drag a new loop into that track.

Just create a new empty track (Ctrl-t on a PC) and drag the clip into that.
