MPC to LIVE miscommunication

Hey all,

I've tried and tried to get my MPC 1000 to send midi data to Live (on my EMU 1616m armed Toshiba Laptop) with little success. I fiddled with the remote/sync/track settings (in the midi/sync section) while in midi select mode so that I can setup my mpc's pads to launch clips without any indication of midi data being received by Live.

Now get this, I can get a response from Live (in that tiny square midi box) when I play a sequence from my MPC. Once I start a sequence the little box blinks as if detecting the midi clock that the MPC sends, but Live, of course, doesn't play along.

This is really trying my patience, I've tried talking to people in MPC forums, read all the manuals. AHHH! HELP!

Per the first section I am not sure what is going on as for the second problem and this might relate to the first. That little blinking light only means that useable midi data is being recognized by live and nothing more.

Maybe you knew this already. But anyway, hope it helps.
