Is there anyway to change Impulses default settings?

After loading and sequencing my samples, they immediately clip and I have to take about 8db off each one, then go through each channel and make the decay last properly and then do other tweaks just to get my samples sounding as they should normally. Is there a way to make it so you don't get this absurd behavior everytime you load an impulse?

It's probably been mentioned but I can't find it anywhere.

save a preset with all the settings done in advance and load that instead. Easy.
