Put Up or Shut Up --- unfinished bidness

Post by Hatchets McGee » Tue Jun 20, 2006 11:18 pm

after a few digs for not posting music, I decided to see if my PC would run today - and it did, and the 410 is working today.

Seriously, the last time I gave up it just wouldnt work no matter what, so heres a tip - if you ignore your 410 for long enough, it will work.

Anyways I'm uploading some bits & pieces now, all unfinished, all done in live, all pc, 100% original bar the obvious FOX NEWS samples in some stuff...and not necessarily music...heh

the 'shhlop' tracks are tracks I made with my niece, i brought her around the house recording one shots of household stuff, and introduced her to ableton live.

be brutal, be honest ( i know some of you want to  )

i have loads of these kinds of tracks...my studio & life is chaos, i generally work on something in one sitting and then leave it......I need to get myself organised, I can barely recall how I did some of this stuff....thank god for .als files.

ps, uploading to tagworld with dialup sucks.....its hung twice on me now, 6 hours to upload a few tracks is maddening, especially since you cant just select them all and come back later

I cant seem to get any sound from the page, I get a 'loading' icon and it just stays like that...

how about broadband users, any problems ?

maybe I'll make the tracks downloadable if somethings up

That's some interesting noise! It makes me want to crush seal foetuses between the cogs of time.

I think I liked Machine Jam the most, I'd like to hear that one really loud on a nice stereo. Quaint Quaint could sound better if you can fatten the sound up, overall volume seems low.

Have you tried surround mixing? Your stuff would work well as a 5.1 or more mix.

Props for putting up, I need to do the same.

Cheers deadly,

Just so happens I am interested in 5.1 ...thats kind of what I want to do in terms of study, film & tv - a four year course , the first two years are core years and then you specialise in something for the final two....I'd like to specialise in sound design. I believe they teach you from the basics up, so I should have a head start at least - but I'm sure I wont be the only one

Aaaaand I was looking at a new place to live tonight...wireless broadband!..my mate's got lots of speakers so I'm gonna get to mess with some surround stuff. They're not monitor speakers tho, they're bose speakers...for like hi-fis and home-theatre systems---still its enough to work with I guess, and kool for practicing a live-set on...which is something I want to put together, at least an hours worth of original stuff

My new bed room is the exact size I need for my gear & bed to fit. I will literally be sleeping at my workstation, god damn I'm glad to be moving back into the city limits.

I've thought from time to time of just collecting some PC speakers just so I can get tons of outputs going at once. I could also play The Flaming Lips 'Zaireeka'going without the usual fuss of collecting 4 CD players and playing them all at once, but that in itself at 3am wasted is fun in itself.
