midi arm button and reaktor problem

Post by SuMoNe » Wed Jun 21, 2006 10:13 pm

i've been using this ensemble in reaktor called vectory with ableton. vectory is used for mashing up drums live and syncs to ableton. it has worked great for almost a year. but now, for no apparent reason, when i select the midi arm button in ableton to use my remote sl25 with vectory, it goes out of sync. it plays fine while the midi arm button is deselected.

i checked the native instruments forum and found out about a 0.5 offset in the quantize module of vectory and tried putting it to 0 but still didn't work. i also tried deleting all other vst's from my ableton session and that strangly seemed to help quite a bit. i can't understand this tho because i used the exact same set just 2 weeks ago and it was fine.

i use a tascam us-122 soundcard with the latest driver. my laptop is a pc with 768mb ram, a pentium mobil 1.4 and a 40 gig 5400 rpm hd.

well i fixed it but it makes no sense to me whatsoever.

while i was testing to see if it was just too many vst's i decided to add a vst to vectory. i could hear the beat come a little closer so i tried adding a few more........ and what do u know? as soon as i had an equal number of vst's on vectorys' midi track as on the first audio track it came right back into sync. so apparently something was getting unbalanced.

i have no idea why this is and i hate not knowing. if anybody has any ideas please respond.

thanks

sounds like it could be the pdc (plugin delay compensation)... which u might want to try switching off.

just a thought.
