Live does not receive MIDI via REwire ...! unbelievable!!!
Live does not receive MIDI via REwire ...! unbelievable!!!
It's amazing! I just discovered that there is no way that I can tweak some knobs in Reason, using the mouse, and have it recorded in live. how is this possible Abs? it's so basic to receive Midi via Rewire...
anyone found a workaround? But no Midi controllers please, I don't really like them.
Thanks

if your midi controller is mapped through reason's midi config (like say if you have a keystation88 or something that reason recognizes natively, but it also doesn't have to be native, you just have to map your midi controller per the reason midi reference guide), you can send start, stop, and playback to your host. But, no, in reason, there's no setting to set midi out, just midi in. So, if there was a way to send midi out, you could use midi yoke or any other virtual midi.

Interesting. Maybe we should put in a request on the wish list forum. I personally would like to see more control of reason with live via rewire. For example, in pro tools, I can designate any instrument in reason to a track, and then designate which parameters of that instrument I would like to automate in pro tools. This is really helpful in cutting back on the number of times that I need to switch between applications and allows me to control every aspect of reason within pro tools. I have to admit that I haven't tried using this method to record automation while turning a knob in reason, but I do know this works for drawing in automation. I'll play around with pro tools a bit and see what I can discover...TORO wrote: the Ab support said they do not receive Midi via Rewire.
