Rewire - Using Reason for Example

Hi Folks

I was using ableton with a mate a while back and he was recording loops from reason on the redrum into ableton and hitting stop after the 3rd bar therefore it recorded it as a full bar.

Whenever i try to do this its recordin by time instead of bars, how do i fix it to record by bars instead of time?

I hope ive explained this well enough, cheers in advance.
