I've been happy with Linksys products. Easy to use and configure.
I got the one that is a wireless router, with 4 physical ports. That way, I can have a combination of wireless and wired connections to the router. It has a built-in firewall, so I can have a fairly secure network. It's worked well for me.

I'm assuming that you already have a net connection of some kind so at first you can check your ISP for wireless router, they usualy have better prices that the stores, plus hardware probably was tested with your existing equipment.

I've had horrible luck with ALL the Linksys products I've owned.
All of these problems were reproducable in different setups:
WMP11: Had to keep moving it between PCI ports because it kept just dropping
WMP11 (old version): Just one day stopped working
WAP11: Frequently dropped connections
WRT54G: Kept having to re-initalize it
I've since stopped buying Linksys bullshit. Life has been much better with Netgear products.

The one I use and is currently happy with is D-Link DGL-4300

Great router, you can even setup priorities based on protocols, so for example you can set it up so http port 80 has low priority and ports used for gaming has the highest so someone browsing won't screw up your godlike
It's gigabit so if you'r machines has gigabit netcards get ready for some serious speed when transferring files over the local network.
Also has wireless, works great, I have a KISS DVD player that has wireless network so I can play movies and music I have on any machine along with netradio without cables all over the house and watch movies on my notebook in the garden.
Used it for 2 years now, not a single problem.
btw, seconding the linksys = crap, I have had 2 just die on me and the wireless can't even go though a thin wall without constant dropouts.
