Ableton 5 and 6 needs better midi implentation

Post by ChrisNL » Sat Jul 15, 2006 6:51 pm

Will there be finally more midi inputs (routed to midi tracks) usable at the same time in ableton 6 ? I hate the way i can only route one hardware synth at a time to his own midi track.

I want to play al my synthesizers with his own controllers and keys and record them all at the same time, It really sucks that i constantly have to select the midi input on the track i,m gonna use. If better midi would be on it, that mades ableton 6 really worth , if it will not be in there , then i really dont see the point of upgrading to ableton 6, sorry.

I think this way the original ableton users will be let down very much. Ableton 6 brings only interresting features for potential new customurs. who dont have interrests in ableton 5.

Can you made also a option in it that vst instruments will send midi, so i can finally synchronize my ms20 controller (and other vst/controller combi,s) leds to its ms20 vst software?

Hey Chris, if you hold apple/ctrl + record you can enable several tracks for midi input. You can also create midi tracks, turn the "monitor input" on, and then route the midi to a different vsti track [or all to the same] - so in effect what yoiu are askign for in 6, has already been achieved in ableton 4 and 5. let me know if this is still not clear.

hehe, I love it
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

allright i tried it but i think i tried this before, when i do that, i can control the synth trhuw ableton, but then ableton doesnt play the track anymore, then i also have to select the red midi socket, and then ableton also plays the track

while we're at it, polyphonic aftertouch would be nice so I can use the word builder that comes with EWQLSC
